Hoop Mountain Boys Summer College Showcase

Dates: July 23rd, 2020
Price: $150.00
Grades: 9th-12th Grade & Postgraduate
Location: Mass Premier Courts (Foxborough, MA)

Hoop Mountain Boys is pleased to announce that we are hosting two college showcases back to back on Thursday July 23rd at Mass Premier Courts in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Due to the toll the COVID-19 pandemic has taken on high school basketball players recruiting exposure, we think it is necessary that Hoop Mountain provides a platform for high school basketball players in the New England and New York region to be seen by college coaches. Because many colleges are not physically allowed to be at the showcase due to social distancing and safety precautions, we have come up with a new innovative way that colleges can still evaluate and recruit players. We contacted around 125 Division 1, 2, and 3 colleges and every school that responded to our survey said that they would purchase the recruiting package. The recruiting package's main focus is footage of the entire 2 hours of the showcase on all 6 courts. This is a great opportunity to get seen by college coaches. This event is going to be innovative in the way that a college coach will have access to watching the skills session/combine, 3 vs 3, 5 vs 5, on all 6 courts instead of the normal recruiting way of watching 1 court.

  • The showcase will be professionally recorded and evaluated at Mass Premier.
  • Hoop Mountain will conform to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts COVID-19 guidelines.
  • We will have a strict protocol for the event to ensure safety for our players, college coaches, employees, and limited spectators.
  • On each court, we will limit to 20 players and 2 college coaches who will be evaluating their specific group of 10 players.
  • The ratio of players to college coaches is 10:1.
  • At the end of the event, each player is going to have a sit down evaluation with a college coach.
  • The players will be receiving invaluable feedback on their chances of playing at the collegiate level.

The showcase will be 2 hours long consisting of a:

  • 1 hour skill session/combine that includes a workout, measurements such as height, wingspan, and vertical leap.
  • 3 vs 3 game rules that enforce team play
  • 5 vs 5 game rules that enforce team play
  • Each specific event at the showcase will be recorded by a professional cameraman.

The package for college coaches will include the entire roster which includes name, contact information, GPA, high school, SAT/ACT, height/weight, and showcase schedule, entire footage of the showcase, and professional evaluation of each player at each showcase. College coaches will have access to the entire recorded event with a detailed recruiting package that they can confine to at their office or remote location at any time.

To reiterate, Hoop Mountain Summer College Showcase will follow all COVID-19 guidelines for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. and the protocol is mandatory for all players, evaluators, employees, and limited spectators.

“We are committed to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to connecting student-athletes to colleges. For over 30 years we have been able to at Hoop Mountain to help in the recruiting process of thousands of players.” -Steve Gibbs, Hoop Mountain

“When I heard about the event, I immediately thought it was an excellent concept because I can now watch all of the players from all 6 courts as many times as I want. This allows me to give a thorough evaluation to recruiting a player.” -Stephen Brennan, Babson Head Coach

“I think the ability to take college recruiting to the coaches office or couch is extremely valuable for a college coach. Saves a coach from hours in a car and with only one set of eyes might miss his next big recruit who was playing on Court 2 while he was watching court 5. NOW coaches will have access to the entire showcase that fits their own time table.” -Mike Vaughn Mansfield HS Coach
