Hoop Mountain Player Development Academy
Personal Basketball Instruction Philosophy:
Hoop Mountain Player Development is a year long intense/innovative program for intermediate to advanced players who are serious about improving their basketball skill level and fundamentals. Each session consists of 8-10 players and provides players with the opportunity to improve their skills individually in a group setting in a four or five week session interval. Our Academy is a wonderful way to improve your game for the AAU season, upcoming Summer Camps or Showcases, as well as next year's season.
Progressive Shooting Series
Session I – Refining the basics and developing your offensive attack moves
Assessing and refining all aspects of your shot including footwork, hand position and form. Special attention is placed on refining skills through instruction and repetition. Introduction and/or improvement of offensive attack moves, 1 on 1 moves, shooting off screens, and finishing through a creative series of individual and small group drills. Expand your game and build confidence to become a better scorer!!!
Location: Gann Academy
Dates –Tuesday – March 16th March 23rd, March 30 April 6th and April 13th
Cost - $150.00
Times: Grades 5-8, 6:30pm – 8:00pm
Grades 9-12, 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Session II – The Complete Scorer
The focus of this session will be to incorporate all aspects of the previous session and focu on shooting at game speed, recognizing opportunities vs. defense, and utilize small group & team situations for live situations to apply offensive concepts. Offensive attack moves off the dribble, screens and cuts will be emphasized including the “why and when” factors - when to use the move and why you should use to!!!

Dates –Tuesday, April 20th, April 27th, May 4th, 11th, and May 25th
Cost - $150.00
Times: Grades 5-8, 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Grades 9-12, 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Skill Development Series – Off season training – The Difference Maker!!!
An intense & innovative program for players who want to take their game to the next level. This series provides players with an opportunity to improve their individual skills in a small group setting based on specific strengths & weaknesses; improve overall basketball I.Q as well as fundamental skills; enhance both offensive & defensive footwork; improve offensive attack moves vs. live competition. These sessions will also use video analysis to improve understanding of individual & team concepts.

Session I Dates: Thursday March 25th, April 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd
Session II Dates –Thursday April 29th, May 6th, Wednesday May12th, Monday 17th and Thurs 27th
Cost - $150.00
Times: Grades 5-8, 6:30pm – 8:00pm
Grades 9-12, 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Combined price of skill development session I and II - $260.00
***All session of Shooting (I and II) and player development (I and II) - $500.00
Academy Session Features:
- One on one attack moves with an emphasis on how to create your own shot
- Shooting Fundamentals ~ Drills that will assist in maintaining effective form and quickening your shot while enhancing shooting technique.
- Advanced techniques for scoring off the dribble, 1 on 1 moves, and finishing in traffic.
- Finishing drills which emphasize on how to create your own shot, finish and attack defenses.
- Extensive focus on footwork & developing techniques for being more explosive.
- Defensive – understanding of angles, creating advantage by influencing and persuading offensive players to gain an advantage.
- Two balls drills to better improve your ball handling, creating to score, shooting off screens and beating 1st and 2nd help defenders.
- “One man,” “Two man” and “Three man” drills incorporating conditioning, basketball athleticism, advanced ball handling techniques, cuts to get open, using screens, enhance passing techniques, defensive and transition & fast break concepts.
